Conditions We Treat
Confidential outpatient support for adults who want to cut back or stop drinking, while staying at home and at work.
Understanding the Condition
Alcohol use disorder is a medical condition in which drinking becomes hard to control, even when it is causing problems with health, work or relationships. It develops gradually and can affect anyone. It is not a moral failing, and with the right support people recover every day.
Recognizing the Signs
These are common signs, not a diagnosis. If several sound familiar, a confidential assessment can help you understand your options.
Stopping suddenly after heavy, regular drinking can be dangerous. Please talk to us or your doctor before you stop. In an emergency, call 911.
Drinking more, or for longer, than you intended
Wanting to cut down but finding it hard to stop
Strong cravings or thinking about drinking often
Drinking affecting work, family or responsibilities
Needing more alcohol to feel the same effect
Feeling shaky, sweaty, anxious or unwell when you stop

Your Care Journey
Your first visit is a confidential assessment with a licensed clinician, about 60 to 90 minutes. We talk about your drinking, your health and your goals, and check whether you need medical detox first; if so, we help you arrange it. Then we agree the right level of care, which may be evening IOP or outpatient counseling, with peer support and relapse prevention built in.
Common Questions
Do I have to stop drinking completely before I start?
No. We meet you where you are. Your clinician will also check whether you need medical support to stop safely.
Do you offer detox?
STS provides outpatient treatment, not detox. If you need medical detox, we help you find a safe option and welcome you into treatment afterwards.
Will my employer or family find out?
Your treatment is confidential and protected by federal law. We only share information with your written permission or where the law requires it.
Is alcohol treatment covered by insurance?
Many insurance plans cover outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment. We work with a growing number of plans, offer self pay options, and check your coverage before you start.
