Understanding the Condition

What it is

Anxiety is the body's natural response to stress. It becomes a disorder when worry is constant, hard to control and starts to affect your work, sleep, health or relationships. Generalized anxiety, panic disorder and social anxiety are among the most common mental health conditions, and among the most treatable.

Recognizing the Signs

Signs you might notice

These are common signs, not a diagnosis. If several sound familiar and have lasted a few weeks, a professional assessment can bring clarity and relief.

Feeling restless, on edge or easily irritated

Racing thoughts and worry that are hard to switch off

Sudden waves of intense fear or panic

Avoiding social situations, calls or meetings because of fear of judgment

A racing heart, tight chest, shallow breathing or muscle tension

Trouble falling or staying asleep, and feeling tired most of the time

Your Care Journey

What to expect during care

Your first visit is a relaxed conversation with a licensed clinician, about 60 to 90 minutes, where we learn what triggers your anxiety and how it affects your life. From your first weeks you practice calming and grounding skills, then work step by step on facing what you have been avoiding and reshaping anxious thoughts. We review your progress with you regularly.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if my worry is serious enough for therapy?

If anxiety affects your sleep, work or relationships, causes panic attacks, or makes you avoid everyday activities, therapy can make a real difference. You do not need to wait until it feels unbearable.

Can anxiety be treated without medication?

Yes. Therapy such as CBT is highly effective for anxiety on its own. Medication is an option we discuss with you, never a requirement.

How long does anxiety treatment take?

Many people notice progress within a few weeks of regular therapy. The full length depends on your goals and how you respond, and we review it with you.

Is anxiety treatment covered by insurance?

Many insurance plans cover outpatient therapy and IOP. We work with a growing number of plans, offer self pay options, and check your coverage before you start.
